As promised, here’s more photos from the “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” premiere for you all! I’ve still not gotten used to her new hair, but I think Evangeline looked amazing as she graced the carpet in her gorgeous, sparkly dress. Enjoy the additional photos (+ the HQ replacements of old MQ photos), and stay tuned for more coverege on the premiere and more later this week!
Some disappointing news (which will be all forgotten a little later tonight hopefully, with the pretty premiere photo additions we have for you!) fellow Evangeline fans – it seems there’s no Tauriel in the first part of the “The Hobbit” trilogy like we previously suspected. Read the parts of the article below, and head over to the original source here for the full article + photos and clips from the premiere.
Remember me? Former Lost star Evangeline Lilly debuts her dramatic makeover at The Hobbit world premiere. She’s not actually going to be featured in the highly anticipated The Hobbit trilogy until the second installment, but that didn’t mean Evangeline Lilly was going to let the grande premiere pass her by. The former Lost star stole the spotlight as she attended the star-studded premiere in Wellington, New Zealand on Wednesday in a pink sparkly frock. Debuting a shorter haircut at the same time, the 33-year-old actress graced the red carpet on the arm of her co-star James Nesbitt.
The pretty brunette looked very different from the tomboy character we all came to know and love on Lost, with her short and playful haircut and glamorous frock. Evangeline has been out of the limelight since the popular show ended in 2010, but she’s set to appear in the next two installments of The Hobbit trilogy. Playing the character of Tauriel, an elf in Mirkwood, the actress won’t be seen in the films until The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is released next year. But despite not seeing herself on the big screen just yet, Evangeline decided to show her support to co-stars including Martin Freeman, Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood and Ian McKellen at the premiere.
Thousands of fans gathered from all over the country to welcome the actors and celebrate the release of the eagerly anticipated film, many of them dressed as character from Middle Earth. Donning costumes as hobbits, elves, goblins and even trees, many had camped out overnight in an attempt to get the best spot on the 500 metre long red carpet.
Actor Barry Humphries, who took on the role of the Goblin King, spoke out about The Hobbit madness that had taken over the city.
Our girl has apparantley jetted down to Wellington, most likely for the “The Hobbit” premiere. Hopefully this means that we’ll have some new event photos soon! You can view a couple of photos of Evangeline in NZ at the Evi forums here, and I will be on the lookout for more.
Hello netters! The post-production video from “The Hobbit” has finally surfaced online, and you can now watch it below! It’s 14+ minutes long, and it’s a very interesting (and super-fun) watch. I didn’t spot Evangeline unfortunately, but I definitly recommend it nonetheless. Apparantly the film is set to be finished edited etc. only two days before the actual premiere!
New ‘Hobbit,Unexpected Journey’ 7 minute movie clip released online. Hello netters! With the premiere of The Hobbit: An unexpected Journey being only a few weeks away now, a bunch of new TV spots, character posters, news and more have surfaced online. Hardly any of this features Evangeline unfortunately, but I’ll post it all for you here anyway.
- First, the Evangeline releated bit: as we’ve posted earlier, Evangeline originally said her character would only appear towards the end of part 1 (when The Hobbit was only to be released in two parts, and not three), and then more in part 2. We where unsure if this ment that Tauriel would not appear at all in the first film now that it’s been split in three, or if they only split the originally second part into two, meaning that Tauriel would still make an appearance toward the end of An unexpected Journey. However, a guy named Mike emailed me a few days ago, telling me that the creators of the “The Hobbit” action figures was very upset about the news of the film being split into three, as some of their action figures for characters who would not appear in the first film after all where already marked “An unexpected Journey” characters. This is supposted to be the case for Evangeline’s character’s action figure, which can be seen here. I have no confirmation on this yet, but I wanted to let you all know – as this might just meen we won’t get to see Evangeline/Tauriel at all in the first part, which is to be released next month.
- Secondly: We now have the first track from The Hobbit’s soundtrack, entitled “Radagast the Brown”! Howard Shore, who did the scores for the “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, is doing the music again, and judging by this track, we won’t have to worry about the quality of it – doesn’t it sound amazing? You can listen to it here.
- Also, four new international TV Spots have been released! None of them feature our Evangeline, but they’re still very much worth a look. Head over to this site to check them out! As they don’t feature Evi, I will not post them directly at the site – but just click the link to view them over at HeyGuys.
- Last, and possibly least, more posters have surfaced online. Again, none includes Tauriel – but just like the TV spots, they’re still worth a look. Head over here if interested.
That wraps our “The Hobbit” post for now – and as always, we promise to update y’all the minute we come across anything releated to Tauriel or Evangeline. Even if she won’t be in the first film, we can still hope she’ll attend a premiere or two! Keep checking back here at I Heart Evangeline for all the latest on Miss Lilly…
A new international 60 seconds long TV spot for “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” has surfaced online, and I’ve posted it for y’all to see below! Unfortunately, no glimpse of Evangeline – but it’s still worth a look.
Crowded House lead singer Neil Finn will provide the end credits song for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey when it arrives in theaters this December.
No details were given regarding the track, or its title, although it should be noted that director Peter Jackson used female singers for the end credits songs on The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers, and The Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King.
It isn’t known when the full soundtrack will be released for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The CD soundtracks for Peter Jackson’s first three Middle Earth adventures were released either at the end of November or the beginning of December.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey comes to theaters December 14th, 2012 and stars Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, Richard Armitage, Benedict Cumberbatch, Evangeline Lilly, Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood. The film is directed by Peter Jackson. (Source)
